OVERVIEW

  • 8 Teams
  • 32 Participants
  • Teams will compete to earn points in a mix of 5 different IRL and Video Game challenges
  • Top 2 teams compete head-to-head in an IRL Finals

CHALLENGE 1 - BAGUETTE DERBY (IRL)

  • A Twitchified variation of the Pinewood Derby. During this low-stakes introductory challenge, Teams will be given materials to build and decorate a shoebox-sized cart with the goal of carrying rubber baguettes down a ramp and across a finish line
    • Teams will only have ten (10) minutes to build and decorate their team's cart
    • Once time expires, teams will declare to tournament admins, in secret, the number of baguettes their cart will carry. Declarations must be more than 0.
    • One at a time, starting with the lowest declaration, teams will roll their cart down a large ramp on center stage
    • After all teams make their attempt, teams are ranked based on the number of baguettes remaining in their cart when it crosses the finish line
    • If a cart fails to cross the finish line, that team will receive a DNF. If all Teams DNF, no points will be awarded for this challenge
  • Challenge 1 Scoring
    • 1st Place: 2 Points
    • 2nd-8th Place or DNF: 0 Points

CHALLENGE 2 - MINECRAFT RACE

  • Teams will compete against each other in an 8-team elimination-based race around different Parisian landmarks. The race will consist of three (3) checkpoints. Between each checkpoint are obstacles that require basic knowledge of Minecraft mechanics to navigate through them. Parkour skills will be required during one of the sections of the race.
  • The Minecraft map is a custom build and it will not be available for practice before the Tournament begins.
  • Challenge Eliminations

CHALLENGE 5 - LUNCH HOUR RUSH (IRL)

  • Lunch Hour Rush is a leaderboard challenge where each Team competes one-at-a-time. The Team with the lowest total Points entering this challenge will compete first.
  • This challenge will take place in the Twitch Rivals IRL stage that consists of a "Kitchen", a "Pantry", and a "Cart". Only the Kitchen and Pantry are used for this challenge.
  • Before a Team begins this challenge, that Team must:
    • Designate one (1) player to compete in the Pantry
    • Designate three (3) players to compete in the Kitchen (2 Throwers, 1 Food Server)
  • Lunch Hour Rush Gameplay
    • When Lunch Hour Rush begins, Teams will be given recipes consisting of three (3) ingredients and must 'cook' and serve as many as possible within two (2) minutes.
    • The Kitchen players can see the ingredients for each recipe, but the Pantry player cannot. Kitchen players must communicate what ingredients are needed from the Pantry to the Pantry player, who will retrieve and toss the ingredients to their teammates.
    • After receiving the ingredients, Throwers must toss the ingredients into an "Automatic Cooker" to 'cook' the ingredients. After all 3 ingredients of a recipe are 'cooked', the Server must plate the ingredients, place the plate on the counter, then ring the service bell. After the service bell is rung, the next recipe is revealed.
  • Challenge 5 Scoring
    • For each recipe served, Teams will earn +3 Points towards their overall score.
  • The two (2) Teams with the highest overall score after this Challenge will advance to the IRL Finale. All other Teams will be eliminated, ranked, and awarded prizes based on their overall Points.

FINAL CHALLENGE - KITCHEN CHAOS (IRL)

  • Kitchen Chaos is a 4v4, head-to-head challenge between the final 2 Teams. Teams will compete simultaneously in separate, but identical stages.
  • Kitchen Chaos is played on the same IRL stages as the previous challenge, but with one (1) added role and a handicap for each area of the stage. Teams must designate players into the following roles:
    • One (1) player in the Pantry. This player will wear a blindfold and cannot see.
    • One (1) player in the Cart. This player will wear noise-cancelling headphones and cannot hear.

  • Additionally:
    • Recipes now include four (4) ingredients.
    • The Pantry player can only carry one (1) ingredient at a time.
    • Only the Kitchen players can toss ingredients. Any other transfer of ingredients between players must be hand-to-hand or placed down before picked up.
